| Found a home, August 2008 Houmi, male Age: 7 months Houmi, a medium-sized dog, was brought to the shelter when we received a report about a puppy dying by the side of a main road. A Rehovot Society rescue team rushed to pick him up and found an exhausted puppy who couldn’t even lift his head. We brought Houmi to the shelter’s veterinary clinic and called upon one of the vets to give him emergency care. The vet established that Houmi had not been hurt in a car accident but suffered from dehydration and undernourishment. He had probably been abandoned by the road and collapsed after failing to find food and water. The vet suspected that Houmi’s internal organs had been damaged and it wasn’t clear if he was going to survive. He was sent to a foster family that gave him lots of loving care and attention. After a full medical check-up that revealed no problems, Houmi has returned to the shelter and is now a happy and healthy puppy. If you knew nothing about his past, you’d never guess what he’d been through. Houmi is looking for a warm home, and promises to give you loads of warmth and love in return. |
