| Found a home, January 2006 Bonnie,
spayed female
Age: 4 years
Bonnie has an unusual and rather mysterious life story. She was found
abandoned in an army base with a few puppies. The soldiers assumed the
puppies were hers, and brought the entire “family” to our
shelter. However, we revealed immediately that Bonnie was spayed, which
means that the puppies weren’t hers! When we found that she had
a chip, we were really happy because we thought that we were going to
return her to her owners, but our joy was short-lived. It turned out that
Bonnie had gotten lost a year and a half ago, her owners had in the meantime
adopted another dog and didn’t want Bonnie back! Where was she for
a year and a half? Was she adopted by other people and gotten lost for
a second time? How did she get to the army base and why was she found
together with puppies? Unfortunately, we don’t have answers to these
questions. All we know is that Bonnie is a wonderful, friendly dog, suitable
for a family with children. She is waiting for a warm home and new owners
who will take good care of her and won’t let her get lost again.
